TRP led the planning application on behalf of applicant Pathfinder Clean Energy. We engaged early with the local community and used their feedback and the advice of our specialist consultant team to design a solar farm that balanced commercial, environmental and community concerns.

The application faced significant opposition from a well organised  minority of local residents. With the election in May 2023 of a Green Party-led council, it became important to demonstrate the biodiversity benefits. Our scheme was able to show a net gain of over 100% and we are negotiating with the LPA to make some of these credits available for sale to other developers as biodiversity offsets. The application was approved in October 2023.
