The proposal will offset over 9,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year and play a vital role in the growth of sustainable food production at Norwich’s Food Enterprise Park. This includes companies such as Fisher Farms, who are revolutionising farming with their next generation, vertical farms that use LED lighting system to produce crops on a fraction of the space needed for conventional farming (even when the space for the solar farm is factored in).

A separate application was submitted and approved for a new substation to serve the solar farm and Food Enterprise Park.

TRP led the planning application, managed a specialist team of surveyors, undertook consultation with the local community and discussion with officers. The application is expected to be constructed in 2025, once the final conditions have been discharged.
